Producer / Promoter – Executive Profile

From his teenage years, Nori Yamakawa immersed himself in band and DJ activities while also producing a wide range of events. He majored in Japanese art history at university. His career began in the hospitality industry, where he was in charge of planning and public relations. during this time, he produced dinner shows featuring artists such as Ray Charles and Shinji Tanimura, and organized major events for legendary artists including Luciano Pavarotti and Frank Sinatra.

After earning a Master’s degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, he returned to Japan in 1995, then joined a broadcasting company, where he was involved in producing a wide array of events, such as U2’s concert commemorating the opening of Osaka Dome, Yo-Yo Ma’s ceremonial performance at Todai-ji Temple, Super Kids Orchestra with Yutaka Sado, and the "10,000-People Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony" presented by Suntory. He also produced numerous behind-the-scenes documentaries, including those featuring Tamasaburo Bando’s dance performances.

A versatile producer with a deep appreciation for both Japanese traditional performing arts—such as Kabuki, Rakugo, and Bunraku—and Western genres like jazz and classical music, he is especially known for his broad expertise in dance, ranging from classical forms to street dance. He served as a founding member of the Osaka Arts Council (2013–2017) and has been a lecturer at Ryukoku University’s Faculty of Letters since 2022.
